How to reconstitute GHK-Cu

GHK-Cu is a copper-binding tripeptide (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine complexed with Cu²⁺) supplied as a deep-blue lyophilized powder in 50 mg and 100 mg vials. Select the vial strength, then set the bacteriostatic-water volume; the selector loads the milligram value only. Add the water slowly against the vial wall — the powder dissolves into a characteristic blue solution. The calculator returns the concentration in mg/ml and the mass at every U100 mark for the size you chose.

The two vial sizes produce different concentrations at the same volume: at 2 ml the 50 mg vial gives 25 mg/ml and the 100 mg vial gives 50 mg/ml. Across 1–3 ml the 50 mg vial spans 50 to about 16.7 mg/ml and the 100 mg vial spans 100 to about 33.3 mg/ml.

Why are there two GHK-Cu vial sizes?

GHK-Cu is offered in 50 mg and 100 mg for different research scales. At the same water volume the 100 mg vial produces twice the concentration of the 50 mg vial.

What does the blue color of reconstituted GHK-Cu indicate?

The blue is the copper(II) coordinated to the tripeptide. A marked change from the characteristic deep blue can indicate copper dissociation, so keep the solution protected from light.

How is reconstituted GHK-Cu stored?

Refrigerate at 2–8°C, protected from light; hold the lyophilized vial at −20°C until reconstituted. Aliquot before freezing to limit freeze-thaw cycles.
