Bacteriostatic water is sterile water containing 0.9% benzyl alcohol as a bacteriostatic preservative — the standard solvent for reconstituting lyophilized research peptides. The benzyl alcohol inhibits bacterial growth, so a reconstituted vial stays usable across repeated draws over its window.

The 10 ml vial is the larger-volume option, aimed at labs that reconstitute several peptides or reconstitute frequently. One 10 ml vial covers roughly three to five single-peptide reconstitutions (at 2–3 ml each), so it is the more economical, lower-handling choice when you go through bacteriostatic water regularly — versus buying multiple 3 ml vials. It also suits larger-fill compounds such as NAD+ that use more water per vial.
