Research Reconstitution Tool

NAD+ Reconstitution Calculator

How much bacteriostatic water to reconstitute NAD+ (500 mg vial)?

For a 500 mg NAD+ vial, the volume of bacteriostatic water you add sets the concentration: 2 ml gives 250 mg/ml; 3 ml gives 166.67 mg/ml; 4 ml gives 125 mg/ml; 5 ml gives 100 mg/ml. At the 3 ml reference volume the solution is 166.67 mg/ml (1.67 mg per U-100 syringe unit). Research Use Only — these are solution concentrations, not amounts to administer.

NAD+ — 500 mg vial: bacteriostatic water vs. resulting concentration
Bacteriostatic water Concentration Mass per U-100 unit
2 ml 250 mg/ml 2.5 mg
3 ml 166.67 mg/ml 1.67 mg
4 ml 125 mg/ml 1.25 mg
5 ml 100 mg/ml 1 mg

How much bacteriostatic water to reconstitute NAD+ (1000 mg vial)?

For a 1000 mg NAD+ vial, the volume of bacteriostatic water you add sets the concentration: 2 ml gives 500 mg/ml; 3 ml gives 333.33 mg/ml; 4 ml gives 250 mg/ml; 5 ml gives 200 mg/ml. At the 3 ml reference volume the solution is 333.33 mg/ml (3.33 mg per U-100 syringe unit). Research Use Only — these are solution concentrations, not amounts to administer.

Each “mass per U-100 unit” figure is the amount one unit on a U-100 insulin syringe (1 unit = 0.01 ml) holds at that concentration — a property of the prepared solution, not an amount to administer.

How to reconstitute NAD+

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is a dinucleotide — not a peptide — supplied as a 500 mg lyophilized powder. Because the mass is large, NAD+ takes a wider reconstitution volume than a typical peptide vial: draw 2–5 ml of bacteriostatic water down the vial wall and let the powder dissolve without shaking. Concentration is the fixed 500 mg divided by the water volume you add.

At the 500 mg strength the working volumes map to a defined band: 2 ml gives 250 mg/ml, 3 ml gives about 167 mg/ml, 4 ml gives 125 mg/ml and 5 ml gives 100 mg/ml. Enter your volume and the calculator returns the concentration and the mass carried at each U-100 syringe mark.

NAD+ reconstitution — frequently asked questions

How much bacteriostatic water should I add to a 500 mg NAD+ vial?

Any volume from 2 to 5 ml; that choice sets the concentration. Because 500 mg is a large mass, a lower volume such as 2 ml produces a dense 250 mg/ml solution, while 5 ml thins it to 100 mg/ml. The tool plots the syringe-mark table for the exact volume you enter.

What concentration does a 500 mg NAD+ vial reach?

500 mg divided by the water millilitres: 250 mg/ml at 2 ml down to 100 mg/ml at 5 ml. NAD+ spans a higher mg/ml range than the peptide vials because the vial mass is far larger.

Is NAD+ reconstituted differently from a peptide?

The method is identical — bacteriostatic water, added slowly down the wall — but the volumes run higher. A 500 mg dinucleotide vial is reconstituted across 2–5 ml rather than the 1–3 ml typical of a milligram-scale peptide.

How is reconstituted NAD+ stored?

Refrigerate the reconstituted solution at 2–8°C, shielded from light; keep the sealed lyophilized vial at −20°C until it is reconstituted.
